Meet The Team

Jan Tvrdy, RDH, BS
Jan Tvrdy

Jan is a native of Minden, Nebraska and graduated from Minden High School in 1982.  She attended the University of Nebraska before moving to Dallas, Texas, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene from Baylor Dental College in 1988.  She returned to Nebraska in 1989 and has been working with Dr. Campbell since May 1995.

When not working, Jan enjoys spending time with her children, Taylor and Abby.  She also enjoys gardening, college football, home improvement projects and golfing.

Emily Shelton, RDH, BS
Emily Shelton

Emily grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska and graduated from Norfolk Senior High.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 2006 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln while working as a dental assistant for Dr. Tom Blankenau and then Dr. Campbell.  Emily returned to school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene in 2009.  She then returned to Dr. Campbell’s office as a dental hygienist and assistant.

Emily enjoys running, traveling, spending time with her family and playing with her dog, Jake.  Emily and her husband, Brock, were thrilled to welcome their son Reid into the world in 2015 and love watching him change and grow! We may have a future associate at Smile Innovations!

Leslie Book, RDH, BS

Leslie grew up in Martinsburg, Nebraska and moved to Lincoln to attend the dental assisting program at Southeast Community College.  She has been in the dental world since 2006.  Leslie graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2013 and joined the Smile Innovations team. 

When she is not donning a mask and gloves, Leslie enjoys cooking, shopping and playing with her dogs Barkley and Baloo. She also loves spending time fishing in Canada.

Michelle Tuma, RDH
Michelle Tuma

Michelle is from Omaha, Nebraska and has almost 20 years of experience in dentistry. She spent 5 years as a dental assistant before attending Iowa Western Community College which is affiliated with Creighton University School of Dentistry for dental hygiene school. Michelle graduated in 2002 and practiced at offices in Omaha and Lincoln before joining the Smile Innovations team in 2015.  

Michelle and her husband Scott have 2 sons, Justin and Cash, and 2 English bulldogs. She loves shopping for "junk" that she repurposes, running and creating life castings for friends and family.

Tonja Francisco, CDA
Tonja Francisco

Tonja is from Alliance, Nebraska and graduated from Alliance High School in 1993.  She attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln, graduating from the dental assisting program in 1997.  Tonja began working with Smile Innovations Dentistry in June 2011.

Tonja has been married to her husband Todd since 1997.  Together they have 3 beautiful children, Bryce, Tianna, and Baylee, which keep them busy with sports and activities.


Kris Riechers, Office Manager
Kris Riechers

Kris is a native of Wilber, Nebraska and graduated from Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools in 1982.  Kris joined the staff at Smile Innovations Dentistry in the summer of 2007 with more than 12 years of dental experience.  Kris has been involved in all aspects of dentistry; scheduling appointments, dental assisting, surgical assisting, treatment planning, filing insurance pre-certifications and claims and overseeing patient accounts.

Kris and her husband Tim farm east of Wilber and are owners of Lefty’s Catering.  They have been blessed with two daughters, Chelsey and Taylor. Chelsey and her husband Jacob welcomed their "little buddy" Bentley in 2011 and most recently Bryar in 2016. Both little ones keep Tim and Kris on their toes!  Kris enjoys watching sports, playing golf, camping and spending time with family and friends.

Lindsay Carlson, Business Assistant
Lindsay was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. While attending the University of Nebraska, she worked for a local orthodontic office. After graduating, she continued on in the orthodontic field for 16 years before joining the Smile Innovations team. When not at the office, Lindsay enjoys volunteering with numerous animal welfare groups. Her passion for all animals, especially dogs, is what led her to becoming a member of Basset and Beagle Rescue of the Heartland. She also enjoys golfing, attending concerts and traveling as much as possible.
